Her Next Course begins with a simple question: What else might I discover—about the world and myself?

This is a space for curious women who love good wine, memorable meals, meaningful travel, and seeing where a new interest might lead. It’s about reconnecting with old passions, discovering new ones, and making room for joy along the way.

As I approach 50, I’m considering what I want to carry forward and what I still want to explore. A lifelong love of learning and teaching led me to earn a Ph.D. in Counseling at 45. With an established career and family life, I’m also reconnecting with interests that have long been part of who I am. In my 20s and 30s, I was an enthusiastic foodie running a nationally syndicated food blog—back before Instagram became our collective dinner table. That curiosity never left, even as other parts of life took priority.

Her Next Course brings those threads together: my background in counseling, my love of food and wine, and my desire to keep exploring. Through personal stories, thoughtful reflections, and discoveries worth sharing, I consider how what we taste, where we go, and who we meet can deepen our understanding of ourselves and our connections with others.

I believe some of life’s most meaningful moments begin with a small departure from routine or a conversation around the table. We don’t need to know exactly what comes next to take a seat and see what unfolds.

So pour a glass, pull up a chair, and stay curious. There’s always another course.
